We are a group of medical students who are continuing the tradition in our medical school of supporting children with asthma and promoting asthma and health education. 10th Annual Finish for a Guinness 5K road race
This charitable event is being held to raise awareness and funds for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. In the winter of 2008 Christopher Stone was diagnosed with ALS at the young age of thirty-four. As a result, the Christopher Stone Fund was established to help support the Stone family as they went through this challenging time. Sadly, Chris lost his fight in the summer of 2009, less than a year after being diagnosed. However, the Christopher Stone Fund continues to actively raise funds for local ALS chapters and families as well as other charitable causes.

13th Annual Narrow River Turnaround Swim
Saturday, June 23, 2018 more than 100 swimmers will return to the URI Campanella Rowing Center for the 13th Annual Narrow River Turnaround Swim. They’ll set off from the beach at 9:00, swim around a buoy a half mile down river, and head back to the beach.
This one-mile loop swim celebrates the joy of open-water swimming and the natural beauty of Narrow River, and raises money for the Narrow River Preservation Association’s education, preservation and protection efforts, including the NRPA River Watch water monitoring program, now starting its 27th year.
